The Last Full Measure is a 2019 American war drama film written and directed by Todd Robinson. It stars Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Ed Harris, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Irvine and Peter Fonda, in his final film role. The film tells the story of William H. Pitsenbarger, a United States Air Force Pararescueman who flew rescue missions during the Vietnam War to aid downed soldiers and pilots, and the 34 year quest to have him awarded the Medal of Honor. Pitsenbarger was killed in the Battle of Xa Cam My aiding and defending a unit of soldiers pinned down by an enemy assault. Before his death he helped save over 60 men in the battle. (wiki)

The film was intended as the middle part of a trilogy about iconic Dutch heroes, starting with the film Michiel de Ruyter about 17th century admiral Michiel de Ruyter and ending with a film about William of Orange. Most likely the biggest box office bomb in Dutch movie history, the film also received overwhelmingly negative reviews from the major Dutch newspapers.

Monos is a 2019 internationally co-produced war drama film directed by Alejandro Landes, written by Landes and Alexis Dos Santos and produced by Fernando Epstein, Santiago Zapata, Cristina Landes and Landes himself. It stars Julianne Nicholson, Sofia Buenaventura and Moisés Arias. The film follows a group of armed teenage guerillas assigned to watch over a hostage.

The film was loosely inspired by the novels Lord of the Flies by William Golding and Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. Filmic influences included Come and See and Beau Travail. While “monos“, the title as well as the code name of the main squad in the film, superficially means “monkeys” in Spanish, it signifies the prefix mono- of Greek origin meaning “alone” or “one”. It details the story of Jack, a young man from Earth who is pulled into a high fantasy parallel universe and has to defeat the evil sorceress Hecubah and her army of Necromancers to return home. Depending on the player’s choice of character class at the beginning of the game (warrior, conjurer, or wizard), the game follows three largely different linear storylines, each leading to its unique ending.
