It is based on Antony Johnston and Sam Hart’s 2012 graphic novel The Coldest City, published by Oni Press, which revolves around a spy who has to find a list of double agents who are being smuggled into the West, on the eve of the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989. The 100 (pronounced The Hundred ) is an American post-apocalyptic science fiction/ teen drama television series that premiered on March 19, 2014, on The CW. The series, developed by Jason Rothenberg, is loosely based on the 2013 book of the same name, the first in a series by Kass Morgan.

It was directed by Mika Kaurismäki and written by Michel Marc Bouchard who, following writing the screenplay for the film, wrote his stage play Christine, La Reine-Garçonwhich enjoyed a successful run in 2012 at Montreal’s Théâtre du Nouveau Monde and then in English at the Stratford Festival in 2014.

Guy reluctantly returns to his childhood home, an abandoned Canadian island, where his parents ran an orphanage. As Guy fulfils his dying mother’s request to paint the lighthouse which served as the orphanage, memories of strange events there overpower him. An undercover investigation by child author/detective Wendy & a revolt by the repressed children, blew open a cover-up by Guy’s parents. Wendy disguised herself as her brother Chance and discovered that Guy’s inventor father performed outré scientific experiments on the orphans.
