The Time Machine is a 2002 American science fiction film loosely adapted from the 1895 novel of the same name by H. G. Wells and the screenplay of the 1960 film of the same name by David Duncan. Arnold Leibovit served as executive producer and Simon Wells served as director, the great-grandson of the original author. The film stars Guy Pearce, Jeremy Irons, Orlando Jones, Samantha Mumba, Mark Addy, Sienna Guillory and Phyllida Law, and includes a cameo by Alan Young, who also appeared in the 1960 film adaptation. The film is set in New York City instead of London, and contains new story elements not present in the original novel, including a romantic backstory, a new scenario about how civilization was destroyed, and several new characters, such as an artificially intelligent hologram played by Orlando Jones, and a Morlock leader played by Jeremy Irons. The film’s recreation of New York at the turn of the century won it some praise.

Many of the time traveling scenes were entirely computer generated, including a 33-second shot in the workshop where the time machine is located. The camera pulls out, traveling through New York City and then into space, past the ISS, and ends with a space plane landing at the moon to reveal earth’s future lunar colonies. Plants and buildings are shown springing up and then being replaced by new growth in a constant cycle. In later shots, the effects team used an erosion algorithm to digitally simulate the Earth’s landscape changing through the centuries.

The H.P. Lovecraft Historical Society presents its all new motion picture The Whisperer in Darkness. Folklore professor Albert Wilmarth investigates legends of strange creatures in the most remote hills of Vermont. His inquiry reveals a terrifying glimpse of the truth that lurks behind the legends. H.P. Lovecraft’s classic tale of suspense and alien horrors is brought to life in the style of the classic horror films of the 1930s like Dracula, Frankenstein and King Kong. Using the Mythoscope™ process — a mix of modern and vintage techniques — the HPLHS filmed on location in New England to create the most authentic and faithful screen adaptation of a Lovecraft story yet attempted.

oxenfree_boxshotOxenfree is a 2016 supernatural mystery graphic adventure video game developed and published by Night School Studio. The game was released for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Xbox One in January 2016, with PlayStation 4 and Linux versions released later that year.

Recommended: OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit. / Processor: Intel i5 2.5 GHz. / Memory: 4 GB RAM. / Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 / Radeon HD 6750 (or higher) / DirectX: Version 11. / Network: Broadband Internet connection. / Storage: 3 GB available space. / Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 Compatible.

The game itself also has an alternate reality counterpart. Within the game are radio frequencies that hint to a real phone number. This phone number led players to the Twitter account @xray9169363733. The account posted various cryptic, coded messages, all of which seemed to point to a real world location. On May 7, 2016, Youtuber Jesse Cox posted a video similar to the PS4 Oxenfree trailer, but with several letters highlighted in red. This led players to http://www.edwardsisland.com. Several messages were found, but most important was “MILNER IS WARD”, confirming that a special object would be hidden at Fort Ward, WA. The object was revealed to be a box with letters by Alex from all the possible timelines from the game warning her not to go to Edwards island, and a manually operated tape player with two paper music tapes of songs from the game soundtrack. 0003 – Time Bandits 1981

spacetime coordinate: from Napoleonic times to the Middle Ages to the early 1900s, to the time of Legends and the Fortress of Ultimate Darkness

Gilliam has referred to Time Bandits as the first in his “Trilogy of Imagination”, followed by Brazil (1985) and ending with The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988). All are about the “craziness of our awkwardly ordered society and the desire to escape it through whatever means possible.” All three films focus on these struggles and attempts to escape them through imagination: Time Bandits through the eyes of a child, Brazil through the eyes of a man in his thirties, and Munchausen through the eyes of an elderly man.
