American Gods is an American television series based on the novel of the same name, written by Neil Gaiman and originally published in 2001. The television series was developed by Bryan Fuller and Michael Green for the premium cable network Starz. Fuller and Green are the showrunners for the series.

The series focuses on Shadow Moon, who meets a strange man named Mr. Wednesday after being released from prison, and soon becomes embroiled in a large-scale conflict between the Old Gods and the New Gods, who grow stronger each day.

Manderlay is a 2005 internationally co-produced avant-garde drama film written and directed by Lars von Trier and the second part of von Trier’s projected USA – Land of Opportunities trilogy. It stars Bryce Dallas Howard, who replaces Nicole Kidman in the role of Grace Mulligan. The film co-stars Willem Dafoe, replacing James Caan. Lauren Bacall, Željko Ivanek, Jeremy Davies, and Chloë Sevigny return portraying different characters from those in Dogville. Only John Hurt, Udo Kier, and Jean-Marc Barr reprise their roles.

Scorpio Rising is a 1963 American experimental short film by Kenneth Anger, starring Bruce Byron as Scorpio. Themes central to the film include the occult, biker subculture and homosexuality. the film also explores the worship of rebel icons of the era, such as James Dean and Marlon Brando. Like many of Anger’s films, the film does not contain any dialogue; it instead features a prominent soundtrack consisting of 1960’s pop music. (Scorpio Rising is considered by some to be the first drama film to feature a rock & roll soundtrack.)
