Pain & Gain is a 2013 American dark comedy crime film directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark WahlbergDwayne Johnson, and Anthony Mackie. The film reunites wrestlers Dwayne Johnson and Kurt Angle. The film is loosely based on a story Pete Collins published in a 1999 series of Miami New Times articles and compiled in the book Pain & Gain: This Is a True Story (2013), which details the kidnapping, extortion, torture, and murder of several victims by an organized group of criminals comprising bodybuilders affiliated with the Sun Gym. The film’s title is a play on the common adage, frequently used in fitness: “No pain, no gain“.

Son of the White Mare (Hungarian: Fehérlófia) is a 1981 Hungarian experimental, full-feature, pop-art/folk-art fairy-tale / animated adventure film directed by Marcell Jankovics  The story’s main character is Fehérlófia (Son of the White Mare), who is a man with superhuman power. Based on the work of László Arany and ancient Hunnic and Avaric legends, Fehérlófia is a tribute to the old steppe peoples. There are slight differences between Arany’s work and the movie – for example, in the movie, Fehérlófia (Son of the White Mare, protagonist) and Fanyűvő (Treetearer) are the same person. There are also references to ancient origin legends: Ősanya (Progenitrix), Ősapa (Forefather), and the Világfa (World tree).

The film was made from 1979 to 1981. It is the second animated feature-length film of Jankovics and Pannónia Filmmstúdió.

Paprika (Japanese: パプリカ Hepburn: Papurika) is a 2006 Japanese science-fiction anime film co-written and directed by Satoshi Kon, based on Yasutaka Tsutsui‘s 1993 novel of the same name, about a research psychologist who uses a device that permits therapists to help patients by entering their dreams. It is Kon’s fourth and final feature film before his death in 2010.

Shaun of the Dead 

is a 2004 British horror comedy film directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright and Simon Pegg, and starring Pegg and Nick Frost. Pegg plays Shaun, a man attempting to get some kind of focus in his life as he deals with his girlfriend, his mother and stepfather.  At the same time, he has to cope with an apocalyptic zombie uprising.

Hot Fuzz is a 2007 buddy cop action comedy film directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright and Simon Pegg, and starring Pegg and Nick Frost. Pegg and Frost play police officers attempting to solve a series of mysterious deaths in Sandford, a village in the West Country.

Over a hundred action films were used as inspiration for developing the script. Filming took place over eleven weeks in early 2006, and featured an extensive cast along with various uncredited cameos. Visual effects were developed by ten artists to expand on or add explosions, gore, and gunfire scenes.

The World’s End is a 2013 comic science fiction film directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright and Simon Pegg, and starring Pegg, Nick FrostPaddy ConsidineMartin FreemanEddie Marsan and Rosamund Pike. The film follows a group of friends who discover an alien invasion during an epic pub crawl in their home town.

Wright has described the film as “social science fiction” in the tradition of John Wyndham and Samuel Youd (John Christopher).

Tekkonkinkreet (鉄コン筋クリート Tekkonkinkurīto, a child’s mispronunciation of “Tekkin Konkurito” [steel reinforced concrete]) is a 2006 Japanese anime directed by Michael Arias and animated by Studio 4°C  based on the three-volume seinen manga series of the same name by Taiyō Matsumoto, which was originally serialized from 1993 to 1994 in Shogakukan‘s Big Comic Spirits and first published in English as Tekkonkinkreet: Black & White.

Takaramachi

The story takes place in the fictional city of Takaramachi (Treasure Town) and centers on a pair of orphaned street kids – the tough, canny Kuro (Black) and the childish, innocent Shiro (White), together known as the Cats – as they deal with yakuza attempting to take over Treasure Town.
